Layering Rule (Hard Breach)
Layering means opening multiple positions on the same trading pair in the same direction. To keep risk under control, you may have a maximum of 3 open positions per pair, per direction, at any one time.
What is allowed
- Up to 3 buy positions open on the same pair at the same time (for example, 3 buys on EURUSD).
- Up to 3 sell positions open on the same pair at the same time.
- Positions on different pairs are counted separately. Having 3 buys on EURUSD and 3 buys on GBPUSD is within the rule.
What is a breach
- Opening a 4th position on the same pair in the same direction while 3 are still open.
Consequence
Exceeding 3 layers is a hard breach. The account will be breached and closed immediately, regardless of whether the trades were in profit or loss.
Tip
Before opening a new position, check how many trades you already have open on that pair in that direction. Once one of your 3 positions is closed, you may open another.
3-Minute Minimum Hold Rule (Soft Rule)
Every trade must be held open for at least 3 minutes before it is closed.
What happens if a trade is closed in under 3 minutes
- Any profit made on that trade will be deducted from your account balance.
- This is not a breach. Your account will not be closed or failed because of this rule.
- Only the affected trade is adjusted. Your other trades are not impacted.
Why this rule exists
The minimum hold time encourages genuine trading decisions and discourages strategies that rely on very short-term price movements or execution latency.
Quick Summary
Layering: max 3 positions per pair, per direction. Going above 3 = hard breach and account closure.
3-Minute Rule: hold every trade for at least 3 minutes. Closing earlier = profit from that trade is deducted. No breach, no account closure.
